    1. Metal Roof Deck Panels* — No. 24 MSG min gauge, or No. 22 MSG min gauge, coated steel, nom width 24 in., nom height at side ribs 3-1/16 in. Optional pencil ribs may be formed in panel flat areas. Panels continuous over two or more spans. End laps to occur over or 8 in. max from the purlin webs extending toward the purlins with panel ends overlapped 4 in. A line of mastic sealant may be used at panel end and side laps.
    2. Roof Deck Fasteners* (Panel Clips) — Two part assembly; base section No. 18 MSG thick, 4 in. wide, 2-3/8, 2-3/4 or 3-1/4 in. high. Tab section No. 22 MSG thick 3 in. wide, formed to engage base.

    3. Fasteners(Screws) — Fasteners for Panel clip(Item 2)-to Min. No. 16 MSG, Max. 12 MSG thick cold rolled steel Purlins(Item7) to be No. 12-14 by 1-1/4 in. long self-drilling, self-tapping, hex-head, plated steel screws without washers. Fasteners used for Panel Clip-to-Open Web Joists to be No. 12-24 by 1-1/4 in. long self-drilling, self-tapping hex-head, plated steel screws without washers. Two fasteners used per clip for each type. Fasteners for No. 24 MSG panel to panel connections at end lap when end-lap plates (Item 4) are used to be No 14 by 3/4 in. long self-tapping, hex-head plated steel screws with 5/8 in. OD aluminum bonded sealing washers. As an alternate fastener for when end lap back up plates are used, No. 14 by 3/4 in. long self-tapping, plated steel screws with a nylon hex-head may be used. Note: Plastic head screws are to be designed so that any separation of the plastic head from the steel shank will not jeopardize the effectiveness of the screw. A separate 9/16 in. diameter steel washer with a bonded neoprene washer used with each screw. Fasteners for panel to secondary structural connections at panel end-lap when end-lap plates (Item 4) are not used to be No. 14 by 1 in. long self-tapping, hex-head, plated steel screws with 5/8 in. O.D. aluminum washers. Pilot holes to be as required by thickness of structural supports. Spacing for Class 60 for No. 24 MSG thick panels to be 3-1/2 in. O.C. beginning 3-1/4 in. from the side joint with a total of eight fasteners used, located approximately 2 in. from exposed edge of lap. For Class 90 an additional row of three fasteners to be used at end laps using end lap back up plates described in Item 4 below, centered along the panel width and spaced 3-1/2 in. O.C., located approximately 3/4 in. from the first row. End lap spacing for No. 22 MSG panels-fasteners located in two rows. First row located 2 in. from exposed edge of end lap with 6 screws spaced 3-1/2 in. O.C. used. Second row located 1 in. from exposed edge of end lap with 3 screws spaced 3-1/2 in. O.C. used.
    4. End Lap Back-Up Plate — (Not Shown) — No. 18 MSG min coated steel, 5 in. long, 23-1/2 in. wide.
    5. Insulation — (Optional) — For No. 24 MSG panels — any compressible blanket insulation 6 in. max thickness before compression. For No. 22 MSG panels — any compressible blanket insulation, 3 in. max thickness before compression. An additional 6 in. thickness of compressible blanket insulation may be located between purlins.
    5A. Rigid Insulation — (Optional) — Rigid, extruded foamed plastic, min density 2.00 lb/cwft. Min. thickness 1 in., max thickness 1-1/4 in. Used with 3-1/4 in. high panel clips (Item 2). Butt joints to occur over purlins. When rigid insulation is used, Thermal Spacer Blocks (Item 6) shall not be used.
    5B. Rigid Insulation — (Optional) — Max. thickness 1 in. located between purlins (not between purlin upper flange and metal deck). Used with Item 5A only.
    6. Thermal Spacer Blocks — (Optional) — Used over the purlins. Extruded polystyrene, 1 in. thick, 4 in. wide, cut to fit between panel clip assemblies.
    7. Purlins — No. 16 MSG min gauge steel (55,000 PSI min yield strength) or min. Type K open web steel joists.
    8. Lateral Bracing — (Not shown) — As required.
