USE AND INSTALLATION

This category covers chute-type fire doors. Chute doors of the intake and discharge types are of formed steel, of the flush design, with frames, latching, and closing mechanisms.

Chute doors are intended to be installed in concrete and masonry walls unless otherwise noted in the individual certifications. Chute doors intended to be installed in nonmasonry walls should be installed in accordance with the installation instructions provided with each assembly.

Chute-type fire doors are intended to be installed in accordance with ANSI/NFPA 80, "Fire Doors and Other Opening Protectives." Chute-type fire doors intended for installation in waste and/or linen-handling systems are intended to be installed in accordance with ANSI/NFPA 82, "Incinerators and Waste and Linen Handling Systems and Equipment."

Authorities Having Jurisdiction should be consulted before installation.
