    1. Floor and Ceiling Runners — Channel shaped, min 3-5/8 in. wide with min 1-1/8 in. flanges, fabricated from No. 20 MSG galv steel. Attached to floor and ceiling with fasteners spaced 24 in. OC.
    2. Steel Studs — C-shaped, fabricated from No. 20 MSG galv steel, min 3-5/8 in. wide with min 1-5/8 in. legs and min 5/16 in. stiffening flanges, spaced 16 in. OC. Studs cut 3/4 in. less than assembly height.
    3. Cold Rolled Channel — (Not Shown) — C-shaped channel, used for lateral support, fabricated from nom No. 16 MSG galv steel, 1-1/2 in. wide with 1/2 in. legs. Fastened at each stud.
    4. Gypsum Board* — 5/8 in. thick, 4 ft wide. Wallboard applied vertically with joints centered over studs. Fastened to the steel studs with 1 in. long Type S self-drilling, self-tapping steel screws spaced 8 in. OC along the edges and 12 in. OC in the field of the board.

    5. Batts and Blankets — Kraft paper, foil or unfaced glass fiber batts, min 3-1/2 in. thick, having a min density of 0.8 pcf, faced or unfaced mineral wool batts and blankets, 3-1/2 in. thick min, placed to fill the interior of the stud cavities.
    5A. Vapor Barrier — (Optional, Not Shown) — 4 mil min polyethylene installed between steel studs and gypsum board.
    5B. Fiber, Sprayed* — As an alternate to Batts and Blankets (Item 5) — (100% Borate Formulation) — Spray applied cellulose material. The fiber is applied with water to completely fill the enclosed cavity in accordance with the application instructions supplied with the product with a nominal dry density of 2.7 lb/ft3. Alternate Application Method: The fiber is applied without water or adhesive at a nominal dry density of 3.5 lb/ft3, in accordance with the application instructions supplied with the product.

    5C. Fiber, Sprayed* — As an alternate to Batts and Blankets (Item 5) — Spray applied cellulose fiber. The fiber is applied with water to completely fill the enclosed cavity in accordance with the application instructions supplied with the product. The minimum dry density shall be 4.30 lbs/ft3.

    6A. Construction Tape or Sealant — (Optional, Not Shown) — 2 in. min wide plastic tape placed over the joints of the foamed plastic on the exterior surface of the wall or sealant placed within the joints of the foamed plastic.
    6B. Foamed Plastic* — (Optional, Not Shown) — Mortar drop protection - Foamed plastic with mortar control device attached, continuous, by drainage holes at bottom of air space behind brick veneer.

    7. Metal Bracket and Ties — Attached to steel studs 16 in. OC max. Underlay bracket with self-sealing gasket material and secure with 2-1/2 in. long Type S-12 steel screws. Bracket legs penetrate foam plastic and engage steel stud flange.
    8. Brick Veneer — Any 4 in. wide brick. Min 1 in. air space provided between veneer and foamed plastic.
    9. Joint Tape and Compound — Vinyl or casein, dry or premixed joint compound applied in two coats to joints and screw heads. Paper tape, 2 in. wide, embedded in first layer of compound over all joints.
