This design was evaluated using a load design method other than the Limit States Design Method (e.g., Working Stress Design Method). For jurisdictions employing the Limit States Design Method, such as Canada, a load restriction factor shall be used — See Guide BXUV or BXUV7

    1. Precast Concrete Wall Unit* — Min 6 in. thick precast concrete wall.
    2. Furring Channels — Min 0.019 in. thick (25 gauge) galv steel, 1-3/8 in. wide on top and 2-3/4 in. wide at bottom by 7/8 in. deep. Spaced 24 in. OC perpendicular to floor with a channel parallel to and approximately 3 in. above floor and 3 in. below ceiling. Clearance between vertical and horizontal channels 1/2 in.
    3. Channel Fasteners — 1-1/4 in. long masonry screws with 3-1/6 in. body and 5/16 in. diam head. Fasteners spaced 24 in. OC with the fasteners staggered on each long leg of the furring channel
    4. Wallboard, Gypsum* — Any 5/8 in. thick UL Classified Gypsum Board that is eligible for use in Design Nos. L501, G512 or U305. Nom 5/8 in. thick, 4 ft wide, secured to furring channels with 1 in. long, self-drilling, self-tapping steel bugle head screws. Screws shall be attached to each furring channel and spaced 8 in. OC at butt joints and 12 in. OC in the field of the board parallel with furring channels. Clearance between screws and edges of wallboard shall be 3/4 in. The joint treatment shall consist of paper tape embedded in cementitious compound over joints. Paper tape and exposed screw heads covered with two layers of compound. Edges of compound feathered out. Gypsum plaster not more than 1/16 in. thick may be applied to wallboard in addition to joint treatment.

    5. Joint System* — Any wall to wall Joint System for concrete walls with a min fire resistive assembly rating of 3 hrs, a max joint width less than or equal to 2 in. and a min thickness of concrete greater than or equal to 6 in.
